Merriewold’s first 2009 foal

In February 17th we had our first foal, a darling, leggy, dark brown (or black)  filly out of  our top mare Caduceus Marika and by  world champion Gulfwind Sir William.

Caduceus Marika 2009 filly

This is an “L” year for names at Merriewold, and we have a few ideas, but would love your input.  Please post your ideas in the comment area to the left of this article.  So far we have thought of…Lola, Lilly, Lady____, Luna,…any ideas?

More information and photos of this filly on her pedigree page…click here!

  1. She is lovely, Diana. Wow, long long legs and a big bodied girl:-) I love L names….I like coming up with names. My Sir William filly was, rather is….Wind in the Willows to do a different twist on the name. (Gulfwind and William). I guess I like “Wind” in the names….I also have Catch the Wind and Heaven’s Wind. Sadly, no more breeding for me as I still need to sell a few more. This is a good reason for me to come visit your ranch.

  2. Too bad it isn’t a “T” year, I would suggest “Teddy Bear.” She’s so cute!!!

  3. Hi Diana, What a cutey1

Surprise of surprises, my suggestion is Linda Lou. With the byline as I love you Linda Lou, yes I do, YEAH, Linda!

  4. She is cute! Looks like a toy.
How about Lady Wold, Lady Love
(Like the song) (Valentines day was Feb 14) Lady Lovita, Lady Luck, Lilly, Lithe, Legacy
