2007 was a banner year for Merriewold with the birth of 6 healthy, beautiful Morgan foals. Well, we’re doing it again in 2008!
Our mare Caduceus Marika is having 3…yes 3 foals by the Brunk and Funquest bred stallion RG Stuart’s Monarch. Marika is a Caduceus Exira daughter. Exira produced large, athletic and ‘typy’ offspring and Marika is no exception. Marika is all of that plus a multi World and Regional Grand Champion as well.

Majesty My Fair Lady and Willowist Promise To Keep were both bred to Rosevale Leggo. This will be Promise’s second foal. Majesty has produced a number of outstanding individuals for us and we are excited about this cross.

Magic Hill Farm is the home of Gordon and Betty Weyrauch, Bethesda Carbon Copy and MJVM Serena. Serena and Carbon are the parents of Merriewold Hero. It gets really cold in Lake Geneva! But, it is also very beautiful.

The year began at Rancho Arroyo Grande while we completed the finishing touches at our new “Ranchita”.
In February Fabien went to Mark Luis to begin his career in western reining.
2007 was a banner year for foals…6 in all: JS, Jesse James, Josie, Jet Lee, Jolie, and Java. Jet Lee was Jackie’s first Merriewold foal.

MLF Emotion found a new home with Linda Sterling.
Our BIG event…in June we moved into our new horse property with a new barn, green pastures, and a 50 foot covered round pen.
Diana with Gaysha and Marika
Also in June, Georgia and Galaxie started their ‘formal’ training. Galaxie went to Sally Anderson in Montana to start her dressage and driving career. While Georgia stayed at Rancho Arroyo Grande and is being started ‘western style’ by Cody Mora.
In August we went to the Morgan Medallion Regional show. Jackie and Rocket signed up for first and second level dressage. Mark Luis showed Fabien at the Medallion and they did great!
Gaysha, Hero and Hanah started their pre-saddle work in the fall. Gaysha has made an amazing recovery from her injury and is now ready to go on with her training.
Harmony, UVM Rarity’s last foal went to Luman Wadhams in November to start her show training.

Last but not least we are expecting 6 foals for 2008. Three from the cross…Caduceus Marika x RG Stuart’s Monarch. Both Majesty and Promise were bred to Rosevale Leggo. And we repeated the cross Ringbrook Renaissance x MEMC Tequila Cuervo.
HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ALL OF US AT MERRIEWOLD!
